Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for working cross-functionally throughout the business on strategic focuses and improvements. This person will also play an integral role in scaling processes to maintain financials and delight our growing investor base with timely and accurate financials, tax documents, and distributions.
This is an opportunity for a candidate with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset to make a direct impact on the business and provide value through collaboration with our external tax team and management of AcreTrader-managed properties and entities, helping scale accounting operations for efficiency. The ideal candidate has a genuine interest and curiosity in agriculture, finance, and technology, and is ready to hit the ground running in a high-growth environment.
You will manage the accounting operations and financials for 120+ properties managed by AcreTrader and ensure their compatibility with accounting principles and regulations.
You will manage K1 preparation with the external tax team, review returns, answer questions from investors and support the distribution process.
You will manage the investor distributions process which includes tax considerations for investors and the state properties are located in.
You will coordinate with the external tax team to ensure compliance and timeliness for entities managed by AcreTrader.
You will perform month-end and year-end close processes.
You will perform audits of the company's financial transactions and prepare documentation for accounting control procedures.
As at any growing company, you can expect many other tasks and responsibilities to be assigned as well as growth opportunities to be seized.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience (CPA and/or Master of Accountancy (MAcc) and/or MBA preferred)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience in Quickbooks Online preferred
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Fayetteville, Arkansas based
Accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
Reviewer mindset and desire to lead and manage others
Legal authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment at AcreTrader
